Adaptation of Ukrainian Pupils in Czech Primary Schools

This bachelor thesis focuses on the process of adaptation of Ukrainian pupils in Czech primary schools in the context of the current emergency situation caused by the war conflict in Ukraine. The aim of this thesis is to find out how the social and academic adaptation of these pupils takes place in school and what factors influence it. The theoretical part of this thesis contains information concerning the number of foreign pupils in the Czech Republic, legislation and support measures related to this situation. Among other things, the theoretical part contains terminology related to the adaptation of foreign pupils and defines the factors that influence their adaptation. The practical part of this thesis presents interesting findings on this topic, obtained on the basis of qualitative research carried out using the method of semi-structured interviews with Ukrainian pupils attending a Czech primary school.
Integration of the Russian-speaking minority in the Czech Republic

In this bechelor´s thesis the autor will focus on the integration of the russian speaking minority in the Czech republic. At the beginning of the thesis she will try to explain definitions such as integration and its course, international migration and outline the legal issues of migrants. The main purpose of this thesis is to describe the adaptations of foreigners to life in the Czech republic, their deployment in the Czech republic, the type of work they do and reasons for moving. Last but not least she will mention the legal legislation in the Czech republic for national minorities and foreighners, their protection and list several non-profit organizations dealing with the problém of integration or national minorities.
By the eyes of a stranger - a series of interviews with foreigners living in Czech Republic

The Batchelor's thesis entitled "Through the eyes of a stranger: series of interviews with foreigners living in the Czech Republic" is composed of practical and theoretical part. The practical part consists of five publicist interviews with foreigners living permanently in the Czech Republic. Authentic portrait photographs complement the interviews, and the final result is presented as a photobook. The theoretical part puts the interviews into context and acquaints the reader with the migration issues in the Czech Republic with a focus on voluntary and permanent migration. The first chapter defines terms such as migration, migrant and foreigner and describes different types of migration. The causes and effects of migration are also discussed. The author then presents statistical data on foreigners in the Czech Republic and, by comparing available research, analyzes how the Czech public perceives foreigners. The last chapter deals with the media image of foreigners, analyzes the current way in which the media inform about foreigners and the stereotypes that appear in connection with them. Finally, some of the journalistic principles in portraying migrants are discussed. Czech as a target language. An up-to-date evidence of Czech reference books available in the Czech Republic for our German fellow inhabitants

This Bachelor thesis discusses Czech as a modern foreign language. It focuses on Czech language courses for foreigners, and on the teaching materials used there particularly Czech language text books for German-speaking foreigners. We are offered a deeper insight into Czech language courses in the Czech Republic and German-speaking countries; mainly Germany, Austria and Switzerland, based on a survey. Moreover, the thesis pays particular attention to teaching materials for German-speaking foreigners who are interested in learning Czech. In the end, the findings gathered from the survey research and analyses of Czech language teaching materials for foreigners will be put to good use; to create a draft of a vocabulary book with exercices for Czech language courses.
The legal status of third-country nationals in the EU

This thesis deals with the legal status of third country nationals in the EU. It focuses on the legal status of long-term residents and the right to family reunification. Particular parts of the thesis analyze these topics in relation to European law, discuss the rights and obligations of third-country nationals, which are contained in the relevant directives, and assess the impact of these directives. The last part is concerned with the issue of foreigners in the Czech Republic, it solves the matter of residency rights of foreigners and implementation of directives on the long-term residents status and the right to family reunification in the Czech legal order.
